FAQs

Why is FOK initiative any different from others?

Because it is led and owned by ordinary Kenyans, has the rare resolve to reach all corners of the country and is anchored on the belief that it is the ordinary Kenyans who need change the most and who must finance it in which ever small way they can.

How is the work of FOK organized?

A workshop of volunteers from different parts of the country developed a frame work known as the Basket Concept upon which the work of FOK is organized. This framework created 5 components against which the work of FoK is anchored and constitutes the  road map.

  1. i.            Enhance good governance through community re-awakening
  2. ii.            Improve national cohesion (healing and reconciliation)
  3. iii.            Livelihoods through youth development
  4. iv.            Synergy and partnerships and
  5. v.            Build FOK’s capacity

What unique about the Face of Kenya?

  • Ordinary people can change Kenya. But they have to believe, own and lead the change process
  • The change process must be anchored and integrated in the work of ordinary people
  • Genuine civil society and private sector organizations have a role to play.
  • The change must be inclusive of all people, youth, women, the diaspora etc.
  • The change agenda must be devoid of partisanship. Politicians & other self seekers should be kep away.

What does FoK stand for?

We believe in one Kenya with its cultural diversity. An inclusive and progressive democracy that fully embraces the rule of law for all. A Kenya which resolves disputes peacefully not through violence. A Kenya where opportunities are availed to its citizens on the basis of merit not connections, nepotism, bribery or other forms of corruption. A Kenya whose leadership is accountable to the people.

What does FOK aim to achieve?

FoK aims to awaken ordinary people to understand that they are most affected by bad governance and that they have to lead and finance change. Ordinary people have to understand that the new republic means change and if no change takes place, the same old ways of bad governance including lawlessness and impunity will continue and things will get worse.

-          At the top of our agenda is how to make Kenya ‘autonomous’ in development .the country has been underdeveloped because political leaders decide what have been dictating which way Kenya should go.

-          We are ready to shape our own destiny
